Training for Rural Teachers on the Rights of the Child from a Comparative Perspective, Khovd, 10 February 2025

As part of the MONEUL project, the regional training program on the rights of the child from a comparative perspective was conducted on February 10, 2025. The initiative aimed to empower and guide child and family social workers working in soums and districts across Mongolia. A major milestone in Mongolia’s child protection system is the adoption of the revised Child Protection Law, which introduces a new framework for employing child and family social specialists in local communities starting in 2025. All aimags and districts appointed 833 new social workers, strengthening child and family protection services nationwide. To support this transition, regional training and orientation programs were held. In Khovd aimag, social workers from Bayan-Ölgii, Uvs, and Khovd were participating in specialized sessions. The training was led by T. Ikhtamir, Director of the General Department of Child, Family Development, and Protection, along with a dedicated working group.
