The Foreign Language Department at the Western Regional Branch of the National University of Mongolia organized the International Scientific Conference on “Language, Culture, and Intercultural Communication” in Khovd City on September 20-21, 2024. Mongolian MONEUL staff members and the MONEUL grantholder delivered presentations. The summary of Gracienne Lauwers’ presentation is available online, with a Mongolian translation by consortium partner staff member Tsagaanchuluun Norov from the Western Regional Branch (Khovd) of the National University of Mongolia. The presentation on language diversity in Belgium contributes to enhancing knowledge about the European Union by addressing key themes of language policy, cultural diversity, and multilingualism within an EU member state. By discussing Belgium’s delicate balancing act in managing its language diversity, the lecture offers valuable insights into EU values like inclusivity and cultural coexistence—central to the educational objectives of the project. The translation of the presentation into Mongolian by Tsagaanchuluun Norov ensures accessibility and relevance for local Mongolian audiences, supporting the project’s focus on inclusive digital learning. Presenting this topic at the International Scientific Conference aligns with the goals of fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, particularly in fields like humanities, languages, and teacher training.
